January - First Week
1937: An open house for the two dormitories on the Southwestern State Teachers College campus was held following the formal acceptance by the Oklahoma State Board of Education.
1941: A bill was introduced by Senator L.E. Wheeler to change the name of Southwestern State College of Diversified Occupations.
1956: The Bulldog mascot was going to be sold to the highest bidder. Duke II was being sold because of his timidness at sporting events.
1968: Registrar Marion Diel resigned to become superintendent at Thomas Public Schools.
1978: Students in the School of Pharmacy were training with a computerized pharmacy record system, not too widely used but expected to become common in the profession in a few years.
