1921: Reports were that the football game held between Southwestern and Northwestern was one of the most interesting games ever witnessed at Southwestern. The Bulldogs jumped ahead, then the Rangers took the lead, the Bulldogs scored a touchdown in the last 30 seconds, and the game ended in a 14-14 tie.
1951: Dick Moore, a 1940 graduate from Altus, was elected president of Southwestern's Former Students Association. Mary Savage of Hammon was chosen vice president and Millie Thomas of Weatherford was reelected secretary.
1955: Southwestern President R.H. Burton announced two acres of land had been purchased just north of the Industrial Arts Building. The addition completed the college boundary on the north along the county road from Bradley Street to Eighth Street.
1966: Atlas Organization of Oklahoma City submitted the low bid of $983,413.95 for construction of the new library.
1972: John Denver, who had ties to the Corn community, entertained an audience of about 1,500 at a Southwestern concert.
2000: The SWOSU Alumni Association announced plans to raise $200,000 to construct an Alumni Centennial Plaza on the Southwestern campus. The plaza, featuring a four-sided clock tower, was being planned in honor of Southwestern's first 100 years of existence.
