1931: Southwestern's football stadium was rapidly gaining prominence among state collegiate gridirons. An order was placed for material to build a high chain link fence around the field.

1941: Southwestern Tech was planning for a big homecoming celebration. Classes of 1911, 1921 and 1931 were going to receive favored attention, according to Dick Jewell, director of the traditional reunion. Also, the "Old Timers" or "Thirty Year Club", comprised of men who played football at Southwestern, planned a reunion.

1963: Dr. Harold Massey became the first dean of the Graduate School. Jack Phelps was a new mathematics instructor on campus.

1966: Three additions to the college staff were announced. David Stratton joined the business education department, David R. Brown was new in the physics department and Robert W. Winninger joined the social studies department.

1977: The Southwestern police were not too happy. The patrol car had the lights and siren stolen off it.

1983: Joyce Matthews of Oologah won a prestigious $25,000 Coburn Scholarship from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. The Southwestern pre-med student competed against top students from across the state for the honor given each year to one junior pre-med student attending an Oklahoma college.
