Online Registration

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a requirement for all applicants entering the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program here at Southwestern OK State Univ. This is an online exam by Assessment Technologies Institute that assesses your abilities in the following essential areas:

Reading – paragraph comprehension, passage comprehension, and inferences/conclusions (40 items, 50 minutes)
Math – whole numbers, metric conversion, fractions, decimals, algebraic equations, percentages, and ratio/proportion (45 items, 56 minutes)
Science –science reasoning, science knowledge, biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, basic physical principles, and general science (30 items, 38 minutes)
English and Language Usage – punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, contextual words, and spelling (55 items, 65 minutes)

No calculator is allowed on this test, however scratch paper will be provided. A study guide may be purchased at the following website:

You are allowed to take the TEAS up to three times between February 8, 2011 - February 6, 2012 (first Monday in February) here at SWOSU. The TEAS is administered at 1:00 p.m. in the Alexander Building, Room 102 on the Sayre Campus on the following dates (subject to change):

Payment of $40 is to be made at the Sayre Campus Business Office in the Administration Building prior to testing. For admission to the test, please bring your receipt and current photo ID (driver's license and/or SWOSU ID). Testing location is Alexander Building, Room 102 on the Sayre Campus. Testing begins promptly at 1:00 p.m. Please allow up to four hours for your test. You will find out the results of your exam by meeting with your School of Nursing faculty advisor. You may take the test up to three times per year after a two week waiting period between exams.
