Comedian Lewis Black Comedian Lewis Black will kick off the 2003-04 Panorama series at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. Black, known as "America's foremost commentator on everything" and a regular on the The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, is set to perform at SWOSU on Tuesday, September 9. Brian Adler, chairman of the Panorama Committee, said other Panorama events include a talk by Lt. General Thomas P. Stafford on November 11; an appearance by the Peking Acrobats on February 10; and a performance of Romeo and Juliet by The Arkansas Repertory Theatre on April 13. All events begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center. Ticket prices vary for the individual events. Tickets for Lewis Black's performance are on sale now at the SWOSU Public Information Office, Room 205 of the Administration Building, and at the SWOSU Business Office, Room 109 of the Administration Building. Tickets are $5 for SWOSU students and $15 for non-SWOSU students. Tickets can also be purchased with a credit card by calling (580) 774-3019. Black's satirical, comedic commentary on the perils of everyday life can be seen every Wednesday night on The Daily Show, which is seen on Comedy Central. Black also appeared as a regular on NBC's The Conan O'Brien Show and on episodes of Homicide: Life On The Street, The Murphy Brown Show and Mad About You. Just recently, he was one of a handful of comedians featured on a Comedy Central television show about comedians. |
