Payment of Tuition Policy

Section I

Purpose

The purpose is to ensure timely payment of obligations to Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Section II

Procedure

  1. After students complete their enrollment, they receive a bill showing their tuition and fee balance and the date that it is due. They can pay this at the Bursar's Office or mail it to the Bursar's Office.
  2. Students with scholarships or financial aid must have their paperwork finished to avoid any payment problems.
  3. If a student can not pay his/her tuition and fees on time, for whatever reason, he/she should go to the Bursar's Office to avoid possible late fees and/or the cancellation of his or her classes.
  4. A student with payment problems can make arrangements with the Bursar for paying his/her tuition and fees (and applicable late fees as listed in the class schedule booklet) during the semester. Late fees will not be charged to students who work for the University, are on the GI Bill, have Foreign drafts or any other special case as determined by the Bursar or other appropriate Senior Business Officer.
  5. The University will administratively drop students (as per the date in the class schedule) who have not paid their tuition and fees or made arrangements with the Bursar for late payment. Students who have been dropped may re-enroll by paying their tuition and fees in full, plus a $25 re-enrollment fee, within a two week period from the administrative drop date listed in the class schedule for that semester. Students can also make arrangements to pay their tuition during that two week period.
