Advanced Standing Exams
Note: Advanced Standing Exams can only be given before the end of class changes (first two weeks of each semester). No student may retake an Advanced Standing Examination.
The student must complete the School of Business Department Advanced Standing Exam application form.
The student must pass an interview by the professor(s) teaching the course. This interview is to determine if the student has the background and/or knowledge to be successful on the exam.
The professor(s) must sign the application form and the student must submit it to the Associate Dean. Both must approve the application before the examination can be administered.
After the student has successfully completed the interview and obtained appropriate approvals, the student must go to the business office and pay $5 per credit hour for the exam. The student will not be permitted to take the exam until the business office receipt is copied and attached to the application form.
The exam may now be administered. The time and date of the exam is scheduled by the professor and the student.
The exam is graded and the "credit form" must be completed by the professor.
The completed form is then sent to the Registrar's office.
** It is highly recommended that the most recent final exam given in the course challenged be utilized as the Advanced Standing Exam.
