The Mission of the Radiologic Technology Program
The mission of the Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Sayre Radiologic Technology program is to provide an undergraduate level program of higher education that will produce competent, knowledgeable graduates with the entry level skills required for a Radiologic Technologist. The following components are also considered an essential part of the mission of the SWOSU program. In order to determine that the program’s mission is being met, these goals must be achieved:

Goal #1 Students will develop and demonstrate effective communication skills
Student Learning Outcomes:
The student can communicate with radiologists, technologists and other health care professionals
The student can communicate effectively with patients
Goal #2 Students will develop problem solving and critical thinking skills
The student can alter technical factors for various conditions
Student Learning Outcomes:
Students will identify diagnostic quality images and correct unacceptable images
Students will perform non routine exams while in the clinical education setting
Goal #3 Students will demonstrate professional development and growth
Student Learning Outcomes:
Students will become knowledgeable about current trends and developments in the field of Radiologic Technology
Students will possess professional ethics
Goal #4 Students will become competent radiographers
Student Learning Outcomes:
Students can perform routine exams
Students can select appropriate technical factors
Students can determine acceptable variances for radiographic equipment
Goal #5 Graduate radiographers to meet the needs of the health care community
Student Learning Outcomes:
Students will complete the program
Graduates will indicate satisfaction with the program
Employers will indicate satisfaction with the program
Graduates will pass the ARRT Exam
Students will gain employment
