SMART

Grants for third-and fourth-year undergraduates will be known as a National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant or a National SMART Grant.

SMART Grant Eligibility:

In order to be eligible a student must be full-time, a U.S. citizen, and Pell eligible. For third-or fourth-year eligibility a student must be pursuing a major in physical, life, or computer sciences, mathematics, technology, or engineering (as determined by regulation) or in a foreign language that is critical to U.S. National Security. The Secretary of Education will consult with the Director of National Intelligence to choose such languages. Finally, the individual must have a 3.0 GPA (or equivalent as determined by regulation) in coursework required for the designated qualifying major. The third-and fourth-year award is $4,000 each year.
