American Indian Studies Minor
The American Indian Studies program, approved during the spring of 2005, is a minor program intended to serve American Indians in western Oklahoma tribes, as well as other tribes around the state of Oklahoma and other students interested in American Indian life and culture. The program is designed for those working in tribal government, as well as tribal members and non-tribal students. The 20-hour program includes courses dealing with tribal culture, language, literature, history, art, music, religion, and wellness concepts. It also contains courses dealing with tribal economics and tribal government and sovereignty. Most of the courses are made available to tribal and other distant sites via interactive video. Also, many of the courses are offered during evening hours.
