Southwestern Oklahoma State University

Medical Professions Club
Professional

The Medical Professions Club is open to any student who is interested in entering a health-related field (Pre-Medical, P.A., Dental, Optometry, OT, PT, Nursing, Pharmacy, Nutrition, Radiology, etc.). It is not specific to any department and everyone is welcome.

This club provides opportunities for students to participate in service opportunities to help build their resumes for professional school applications, as well as to contribute to the greater good. Additionally, speakers from professional schools and different medical careers provide information to students about entrance requirements, educational curricula, and the day-to-day activities of being a health care professional. Lastly, this club provides the means for students to interact with, ask questions of, and work with other students hoping to enter similar medical fields after completion of pre-requisite requirements and/or degrees at SWOSU. Overall, this club provides a sense of purpose, hope, and fellowship to aspiring students in the medical professions.

We w ill have a table at the Organizational Fair (8/30) - Look for us and get your free bottle of SWOSU-cillin or SWOSU-mycin to ward off the microbes!

First meeting is at noon and 5 pm on Wed., 9/5, in SCI 216 – you only have to attend one meeting, but we are trying to make it convenient for students by having two meeting times.  LUNCH WILL BE SERVED at noon and SNACKS WILL BE PROVIDED at 5 pm.

Dues are $ 7 per semester or $12 per year.  This helps to offset the cost of food, will get you a reduced price on a club t-shirt, and helps to provide supplies and gas money for our different activities.

Be a part of the Leadership Team:  Instead of officers, students can participate as "leaders" - this means they can lead and participate in events that best fit their interests and time schedule.
