Natural Science Education (B.S.Ed.)

Natural Sciences Education at SWOSU

Natural Science Education graduates shape the future by teaching their students to meet the challenges we face as a society. Teacher training includes general education courses, major specialization in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, and professional education classes required for effective classroom instruction. Content and methods courses have been developed to prepare future educators in the latest research-based science education practices available.

What You Can Expect in the Natural Sciences Education Program

At SWOSU, we are proud to train the next generation of educators! Our professors are all practicing educators with years of real-world, public school education experience. We truly believe there is no greater calling than that of teaching upcoming generations, and we are passionate about education.

Each student in the Elementary Education program is required to complete upper-level math and science courses from all three available concentrations (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) plus additional courses within their concentration of choice plus rigorous professional education courses which include student teaching requirements.
