Student Employee Hiring Procedure

Step 1 - Register with Bulldog Job Board

*Each department should have an online account through CCN (College Central Network).  Please contact your Administrative Assistant or Budget Head Unit for assistance with your departmental account.

  • Go to jobs.swosu.edu for first time registration
  • Click “Student Jobs”
  • Click on “Employers”
  • Choose the link for “Create Account”
  • Be sure to read and initial EEO status

Step 2 - Post Your Student Job

  • Login to the Bulldog Job Board account
  • Select “Post, Edit, Repost or Expire job postings”
  • Select “Post a new job”
  • Complete the job posting information, once complete, select “Save job posting”
  • Once submitted through the site, Human Resources approves and posts the position

Step 3 - Application Process

  • Interested students must apply on-line via Bulldog Job Board.  If assistance is needed contact HR or Career Services. 
  • Resumes will be sent directly to contacts email listed on posting.

Step 4 - Interview

  • Review resumes received via Bulldog Job Board
  • Contact applicants for interview
  • Select applicant who best fits position

Step 5 - Direct Student to Human Resources

  • Prepare a Pay Action Form
  • Direct Student to HR with the Pay Action Form to complete employment paperwork on or before first day of work.  Failure to do so is a violation of state and/or federal law

Step 6 - Receive Authorization to Begin Work Slip from HR

  • Departments may only start student employees working after receiving the “Authorization to Begin to Work” email from HR.
