Once transfer students have been accepted to SWOSU they may contact the Admissions and Recruitment Office, at 580.774.3782 or firstname.lastname@example.org, for assistance with departmental advisement and enrollment. Transfer students will meet individually with an academic advisor to enroll in classes. The Admissions and Recruitment Office also schedules campus and residence hall tours on the day students visit SWOSU for academic advisement.
Many transfer students prefer an individual advisement session; however, transfer students are welcome to attend a New Student Orientation (NSO) session to enroll at the same time as a small group of incoming freshmen. Students may complete the online registration form or call the NSO office 580.774.3233) to sign up for a New Student Orientation session. There are six NSO dates to choose from beginning each April through August.
Transfer students automatically will be enrolled in a free Transfer Student Orientation course on Canvas. Canvas is a web-based course management system. The course is designed to provide transfer students with additional information about SWOSU and university policies. The online course is strictly to provide information—there is no grade for the course.
The Transfer Student Orientation course information can also be found on the NSO page under Transfer Orientation. If you have any questions about transfer orientation, contact the New Student Orientation office at 580.774.3233 or email@example.com.
The purpose of this program is to familiarize you with the policies and procedures at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. SWOSU’s policies and procedures may be different than your previous college or university. Upon completion of the online orientation you will be able to access your student webmail, My SWOSU, and Canvas accounts. You will also be more familiar about how various campus offices can assist you.
