This past March, Terri Watkins, a former investigative reporter for KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City, spoke to the PLC II Class. While at KOCO, Ms. Watkins worked on such stories as: the Edmond Post Office Massacre, the investigation into Gov. David Walters, the OKC Bombing (including the trials of Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols) and started the investigation into former State Treasurer Claudette Henry that led to the conviction of her chief of staff.
Terri has been a part of two Peabody Award winning teams in the newsroom. She has received Houston and New York International Film Festival Awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting.
In 2006, Watkins became the Public Information Officer for the state Auditor and Inspector’s Office. She still currently holds that position under State Auditor Steve Burrage.
