The 7th Annual PLC Banquet was held in the SWOSU Memorial Student Center Ballroom on April 18, 2013. Senator Clark Jolley served as the keynote speaker. After graduation from Del City High School, Senator Jolley received Music Education and Political Science degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University before graduating Law School at the University of Oklahoma. Senator Jolley was elected by the voters of District 41 to the Oklahoma Senate in 2004 and re-elected in 2008. During his first term, he was elected by his Republican Colleagues to serve as Republican Whip and his colleagues elected him to serve as Assistant Majority Floor Leader during his second four year term in the Senate.
In his Senate career, he has served as the Chairman of the Senate Education Appropriations Subcommittee, the Health and Human Services Committee and the Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee. Additionally, he served as the Co-Chairman of the 2011 Senate Redistricting Committee which passed a bi-partisan plan with over three-fourths support of the Senate. He has also served as Assistant Majority Floor Leader, Vice Chair of the full Appropriations Committee and Co-Vice Chair of the Joint Appropriations and Budget Committee. He currently serves as Chair of the full Appropriations Committee and Co-Chair of the Joint Appropriations and Budget Committee.
This annual banquet is an opportunity for SWOSU to say “thank you” to donors and supporters of the President’s Leadership Program at SWOSU. The SWOSU PLC is totally funded through these donors and the SWOSU Foundation.
