We are excited to host SWOSU Serves again this Fall!
Saturday, October 12, 2019
9 to 11 a.m.
The mission of SWOSU Serves is to provide students with the opportunity to actively engage with the community in a service learning project. Service-learning is considered to be a high impact practice for students, because it contributes to the educational experience by promoting learning outside the walls of the classroom. This activity will encourage personal growth in students while also meeting various needs in the community. SWOSU Serves is an event designed to strengthen the relationship between SWOSU and surrounding organizations.
Please fill out this short Project Registration Form.
Some examples of projects include: simple painting jobs, clean-up of campus or community areas, beautification projects, etc.
This form will be available until September 1, but we always welcome project ideas. We will notify you regarding project approval no later than September 15, 2019.
For questions, please contact the New Student Orientation Office at 580.774.3233 or e-mail Taler Alexander at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Freshmen students wishing to register for a project, please fill out the Student Registration Form.
On the Registration Form you will have the opportunity to choose the top three projects that you would like to work on. Please note that due to limited availability on some projects, there is no guarantee that you will be assigned to your first choice of project. Transportation to project sites is not provided unless otherwise stated. You will be notified of the project that you have been assigned via your student e-mail address and in your Freshman Orientation class.
If you cannot attend a project on the designated SWOSU Serves date, please contact the New Student Orientation Office at 580.774.3233 or e-mail Taler Alexander at email@example.com for acceptable alternatives to fulfill the service learning requirement in the Freshman Orientation course.
