“Dreamer” is Focus of AAUW Spring Luncheon
“Dreamer” will be the focus of the American Association of University Women annual spring luncheon to be held Thursday, March 15, on the campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
Chaney Larsen, assistant director of the Stafford Air & Space Museum and adjunct instructor for the “Theory of Flight” course at SWOSU, will be the featured speaker.
The public is invited to the 12 noon luncheon in the Memorial Student Center Ballroom. The luncheon includes a baked potato bar, salads, dessert, as well as water, tea and coffee.
Larsen is in her fourth year at the popular Stafford Air & Space Museum. Her goal is to inspire women of all ages to dream and do more than they ever thought possible. She likes this quote from Harriet Tubman: “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”
Tickets are available from any AAUW member or by emailing Dr. Holly McKee at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your seat (tickets are $15 each). Funds will go to support AAUW projects such as the Nancy McClain Honorary Scholarship, a student travel scholarship to the annual National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) and more.
AAUW membership is open to all individuals who have completed a college/university degree (associate, bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate). Current college students are eligible for a free student e-affiliate membership.
