Five SWOSU Students Finish as Finalists at Vocal Music State Contest

Nine Southwestern Oklahoma State University students recently represented the Weatherford university at the state competition of the National Association of the Teachers of Singing (NATS), and five ended up being finalists.
Finalists at the competition held in Shawnee were Alyssa Garcia, Bay City (Tidehaven) TX; Liz Stewart, Sulphur; Brianna Boyce, Marlow; Arianna Martin, Broken Arrow; and Whitney Kleinpeter, Elk City.
Stewart, a student of Dr. Robin Griffeath, won the sophomore women division, and Martin, a student of Dr. Kristin Griffeath, placed second in the freshmen women division.
The SWOSU students competed against top singers from universities across the state.
