Southwestern Oklahoma State University has a new booth location at this year’s Oklahoma State Fair that runs September 13-23 at the State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City, and SWOSU will once again be very involved in Band Day activities at the fair on September 17.
SWOSU’s booth (#9415) is stationed in the new Bennett Event Center. Many SWOSU employees will volunteer at the booth during the 10-day state fair.
SWOSU’s marching band, along with the university’s spirit vehicle Code Blue, will lead the parade at Monday’s Band Day parade that will feature 54 high school bands from around the state of Oklahoma. The parade beings at 10:30 a.m. near the space needle. At 1 p.m., the SWOSU drumline and color guard will conduct short workshops for high school students followed by a mini-concert by the SWOSU marching band. The Band Day awards ceremony will follow. The public is invited.
SWOSU with campus locations in Weatherford and Sayre has sponsored a booth at the Oklahoma State Fair for nearly 40 straight years. Many alumni, friends, students and prospective students stop by the booth each year.
