Blake Bustin to Speak at SWOSU-Sayre Commencement
Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre will host its 75th commencement Thursday, May 2, and speaker for the evening will be Blake Bustin, vice president of Great Plains Bank in Elk City.
The ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. in the Sayre Public Schools Auditorium.
Bustin graduated from SWOSU-Sayre in 2009 with an Associate in Science degree in General Business and graduated in 2011 from SWOSU in Weatherford with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance.
Two weeks after he graduated from Elk City High School in 2007, Bustin began working for Great Plains Bank as a teller at the West Third location in Elk City. A year later, he advanced to credit analyst and worked three more years while putting himself through college.
After graduating from SWOSU in Weatherford, Bustin took a loan officer position at Great Plains Bank in Burns Flat. In 2017, he transferred to the South Main location in Elk City, where he currently serves as vice president/loan officer.
An Elk City native, Bustin and his wife, Janessa (Baker), and their three children—Brynlee, 13, Bentley, 8, and Brantley, 15 months—live in Elk City.
Bustin and his family are active in the First Christian Church in Elk City. In addition to transporting kids to and from sports and other activities, they enjoy spending time outdoors and managing their cattle operation. He is the son of Sharon and the late Robbie Bustin and grandson of Carol and the late Marvis Bustin.
