Panorama Acts Coming to SWOSU

OKC Philharmonic, Comedian Ken Jeong and Author Nicholas Sparks Coming to SWOSU

Southwestern Oklahoma State University has announced three Panorama Series events for the 2019-20 school year in Weatherford, and tickets are already on sale for two of the events.

 Events are:

Sept. 13

Oklahoma City Philharmonic

Fine Arts Center

Oct. 25

Comedian Ken Jeong

Feb. 5

Author Nicholas Sparks

Tickets for the OKC Philharmonic and Comedian Ken Jeong are on sale at Ticket sales for the Sparks event will be announced later.

The Oklahoma City Philharmonic was formed in 1988 under the musical direction of Founder and Music Director Emeritus Joel Levine and began a new era with the passing of the baton to Maestro Alexander Mickelthwate in 2018. Ticket prices are $10 and available at or in the SWOSU Public Relations & Marketing Office in Room 205 of the Administration Building. A limited number of $5 tickets are available for purchase by SWOSU students in the PR & Marketing Office.

Comedian Ken Jeong will be an exciting event during Homecoming 2019 weekend. Jeong is well known for his performances in The Hangover movies and the television show Dr. Ken. Jeong’s career path started on a different course. He earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University and went on to get his medical degree at the University of North Carolina. He decided later to enter the world of comedy and has been a smash hit around the country. Tickets are available now at Tickets will be available starting July 22 in the SWOSU PR & Marketing Office.

Author Nicholas Sparks is a best-selling & beloved author of The Notebook, A Walk to Remember and 18 others. In October 1996, Warner Books published The Notebook, for which they famously paid its unknown author a million dollar advance. The rest, as they say, is history. Now, with over 105 million copies of his books sold worldwide, literary sensation Sparks is the author of 19 New York Times #1 bestselling books. Sparks’ visit to SWOSU and western Oklahoma is made possible by the Western Plains Library System in partnership with the SWOSU Panorama Series.

The SWOSUpalooza event will be announced at a later date. The Panorama Series Committee and SWOSU Student Government Association will plan the event this fall.
