SWOSU Native American Student Association Plans Heritage Month Events

Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Native American Student Association (NASA) has several events lined up on the Weatherford campus in honor of Native American Heritage Month in November.

The public is invited to the events, which include:

NASA Taco Sale

Come enjoy Indian style tacos – frybread, beans, meat and toppings, a fundraiser event for the Native American Student Association--$7 for Indian taco/drink; $6 for Indian taco only; $2 fry bread

Health Screenings

Wellness Center

In conjunction with the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes: Diabetes Wellness Program, Indian Health Services (HIS), CHR, and Health Education; Blood Pressure and Blood Glucose check. In addition, free flu shots for Native American students only

Cornhusk Doll Making Class

SWOSU Ballroom

Come learn how to make cornhusk dolls from start to finish and hear how the dolls are made and story behind them by Kathleen Tall Bear
