SWOSU Darwin Day Planned February 12
Southwestern Oklahoma State University Department of Biological Sciences will be sponsoring an event celebrating the life and accomplishments of Charles Darwin on Wednesday, February 12, on the Weatherford campus.
This day, Darwin’s birthday, is celebrated internationally to bring attention to Darwin’s fundamental contributions to science.
Students from Dr. Rickey Cothran’s Invertebrate Biology and Current Issues biology class will be helping with the event that will take place from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the lobby of the Memorial Student Center. The public is invited to stop by the area.
Scheduled activities include Darwin trivia with candy prizes, natural selection role-playing game, imaginary critter phylogeny, adaptations of aquatic invertebrates and more.
