Cellist and Pianist to be featured in SWOSU Concert
Dr. Jonathan Ruck, cello, will be featured in concert on Wednesday, March 11, on the Southwestern Oklahoma State University campus in Weatherford.
The public is invited to the 7 p.m. concert in Berrong Music Hall 101. Admission is free.
Hyejin Cho will accompany Ruck on piano.
Ruck enjoys a career balanced between performing and teaching. He currently serves as the principal cellist of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and is a core member of Brightmusic, Oklahoma City’s resident chamber music ensemble. Ruck joined the faculty of the University of Oklahoma School of Music in 2006, where he teaches cello and chamber music and serves as program director of the University of Oklahoma Summer String Academy.
He performs on a cello built in 1820 by Thomas Kennedy of London.
Cho is an active soloist and has played recitals in Europe, Asia and across the United States. She is a founding member of the award winning Koinonia Piano Trio and is currently
coaching instrumentalists and vocalists at Truman State University. She is originally from Seoul, Korea.
