Karcher and Davis to Continue Serving in Miss SWOSU Roles

Following the lead of both the Miss America Organization and Miss Oklahoma competition, Southwestern Oklahoma State University will not hold its annual Miss SWOSU competition on the Weatherford campus in 2020.

This is the first interruption of the Miss SWOSU competition in its 62 years of existence. The postponement is due to the nationwide impact of COVID-19.

Natalee Karcher of Midland (TX) will continue to be Miss SWOSU and represent the university at the next Miss Oklahoma event in 2021 on June 5-12. Also, Peyton Davis of Cache will continue as Miss SWOSU’s Outstanding Teen and also compete in 2021.

This year’s Miss Oklahoma was scheduled to take place next month in Tulsa while the 100thanniversary of the Miss America competition was scheduled for December of this year.

Kendra Brown, director of the Miss SWOSU competition, said more details will be announced later. For anyone with questions or wanting to schedule appearances by Miss SWOSU and Miss SWOSU’s Outstanding Teen this fall, contact Brown at kendra.brown@swosu.edu.
