SWOSU Summer Science and Math Academy Planned at SWOSU

Southwestern Oklahoma State University is planning to host the SWOSU Summer Science and Math Academy (SSMA) this June.

SSMA is a summer academy designed to give 32 high school juniors and seniors a two-week experience in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.  The program is designed to motivate students towards pursuing higher education and careers in the STEM disciplines.

SSMA will be located on the Weatherford campus from Sunday, June 6 (move in), to Friday, June 18, with participants living in residence halls, dining in the cafeteria, and taking classes in a variety of science content and communication areas. Laboratory and field experiences will enhance the participants’ problem-solving skills.  During the second week, participants will be involved in a problem-solving competition.

Students who are interested should contact Dr. Brian D. Campbell at 580.774.3118 or or Dr. Keturah Adams at 580.774.6027 or
