Festivities Added to This Year’s SWOSUpalooza on Thursday
SWOSUpalooza is scheduled for Thursday, March 25, at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and in addition to the three featured bands, several fun festivities have been added to the evening lineup.
Flatland Cavalry, Mike Ryan and Triston Marez will be the featured artists at the 8 p.m. concert in the Pioneer Cellular Event Center. Tickets ($15) are available to the public on stubwire.com at: http://share.swosu.edu/palooza2021
In addition, First National Bank and Weatherford Daily News are excited to present the first-ever Palooza games during the concert. Hundreds of dollars in prizes will be given out as attendees are challenged with wacky concert games involving beach balls, nerf balls and hula-hoop competitions.
Even though there will not be any concessions inside the center at this year’s concert, the Student Government Association (SGA) has arranged three food trucks just outside the arena, starting at 6 p.m. The trucks are: Pecan Creek, known for feeding America’s energy producers; Taste of Soul, serving southern chicken and waffle items; and Tone's Funky SnoConeTina, known for their famous snow cones. Area residents who are not attending the concert are also invited to enjoy the food trucks.
At the concert, seats will be spread out throughout the arena to allow social distancing. Masks are required.
Tickets are being limited in numbers this year and Brian Adler, chair of the co-sponsoring Panorama Committee, said sales have been going well. Advance tickets are $15 but if any tickets remain on the day of the show, the cost will be $20 at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center ticket office.
“We want safety and success,” Adler said. “This is the start of bringing back more student activities to the SWOSU campus after a year of COVID-19 challenges.”
The SWOSUpalooza music event is sponsored by the SGA and the Panorama Series. For additional information, contact the SWOSU Public Relations and Marketing Office at 580.774.3063.
