SWOSU Wind Symphony Plans Sunday Concert at Scissortail Park in OKC

The Southwestern Oklahoma State University Wind Symphony in Weatherford will perform a concert this Sunday, April 18, at the new Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City.

The 3 p.m. concert is open to the public. The free concert will take place on the Loves Travel Stop Great Lawn and Stage within the park.

Marc Mueller, director of bands at SWOSU, said the concert will feature a wide range of music including works by John Mackey, Frank Ticheli, John Phillip Sousa, Karl King, Rogers and Hammerstein and Billie Eilish. Featured soloists will include performances by Dr. Matthew Tracy (alto saxophone), Dr. Kristin Griffeath (soprano) and Dr. Robin Griffeath (tenor).  

Mueller encourages concertgoers to bring a picnic blanket and snacks and enjoy a Sunday afternoon with great music in a great park.
