Dr. Lisa Boggs
Dr. Amanda Evert
Southwestern Oklahoma State University students recently voted online for the annual Brandy Awards for outstanding staff, administrator and faculty of the year and this year a new award—Dougherty Diversity & Inclusion Award—was included in the awards process.
Winning Brandy Awards for 2020-21 were Erin Hawkins, administrative assistant in the Everett Dobson School of Business & Technology, staff award; SWOSU President Dr. Randy Beutler, administrator award; and Dr. Lisa Boggs, associate professor in the College of Arts & Sciences, faculty award. Each Brandy Award winner received a traveling Brandy Award.
The Dougherty Award was named in the honor of the late Dean of Students Cindy Dougherty. Because of Dougherty’s continuous efforts of promoting multiculturalism at SWOSU, current Dean of Students Joshua Engle formed the award to honor a SWOSU employee for their efforts of advocating for cultural diversity. The first recipient was Dr. Amanda Evert, associate professor in the Everett Dobson School of Business & Technology.
The SWOSU Dean of Students office also recently sponsored its annual Staff Appreciation Week. All full-time SWOSU staff and faculty of the Weatherford and Sayre remote locationes received appreciation gifts from the Collegiate Activities Board (CAB) and the Dean of Students office.
