Frontier Brass Band Plans Special Concert this Sunday at SWOSU
The Frontier Brass Band (FBB) will make their first performance since their COVID-19 hiatus this Sunday, October 3, at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
The 3:30 p.m. concert will be held in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium on the Weatherford campus. Admission is free and open to the public.
The band will honor the essential workers, emergency personnel and those whose lives have been lost to Covid-19. Additionally, they will be commemorating the 20th anniversary of 9-11 with a musical tribute to those whose lives were forever altered by the events of that day.
The Frontier Brass Band is a national award-winning ensemble founded in the spring of 2014 and is made up of university professors, educators, university students and community members from the greater Oklahoma City area.
FBB is committed to celebrating the unique British brass band genre and taking a leading role in the community to raise arts awareness. Frontier presents four eclectic concerts per season performing a wide range of styles and genres and has collaborated with artists such as Vince DiMartino, Wiff Rudd, Greg Wing, Brian Bowman and more.
The band has also had the opportunity to perform three times at the International William Adam Trumpet Festival as well as performances for the Oklahoma Music Educators Conference, Oklahoma Bandmaster’s Association Summer Conference, and regional International Trumpet Guild and International Tuba Euphonium conferences.
