SWOSU Homecoming Winners Announced for 2021

Ryan Agyemang of Yukon and Natalie Kinder of Arapaho were crowned Homecoming Queen and King during halftime of the SWOSU football game. Kinder and Agyemang were sponsored by the Student Government Association.

Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford celebrated Homecoming on October 30, and winners of the various competitions have been announced by the university.

Natalie Kinder of Arapaho and Ryan Agyemang of Yukon were crowned Homecoming Queen and King during halftime of the SWOSU football game. Kinder and Agyemang were sponsored by the Student Government Association.

At the parade, SWOSU’s Sigma Sigma Chi sorority won first place and $1,500 in the float competition. Society of Women Engineers/Society of Manufacturing Engineers won second place and $1,000, and the Oklahoma Cinderella Scholarship Pageant finished third and won $700. 

The prize money was sponsored by the SWOSU Student Government Association and several Weatherford financial institutions. 

In the marching band contest, 18 bands participated in the parade. Sayre High School was named the outstanding band in the parade competition and won $250 from the SWOSU Student Government Association. Sayre High School also won the outstanding drum major award.

After the parade, high school band students—1,100 strong—performed in a mass band at Milam Stadium before the SWOSU football game.

In addition, in the Battle of the Bulldogs, the overall winner was Tau Kappa Epsilon. Finishing second was the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and third was BYX.  SWOSU student organizations spent the week participating in various activities raising money for Step Up, a transitional living program for individuals. 

SWOSU Cook-off Challenge winners were Delta Mu Delta, first place; Mickey & Terri Lockhart, second place; and Trinity Baptist Church, third place. The challenge featured “Best Burger.”
