SWOSU Blood Drives Result in 621 Total Donations
The Southwestern Oklahoma State University community and its friends had 621 total blood drive donations during the 2021-22 academic year, according to the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI).
Melissa Santoro, account consultant with OBI, said each donation has the potential to save three lives so that is 1,863 total lives saved from the SWOSU student blood drives held on the Weatherford campus.
At the latest blood drive held April 4-5, the SWOSU drive had 138 donations.
Santoro expressed appreciation to the SWOSU/OBI Outreach student group that did a phenomenal job working on the blood drives.
