Chamberlin Selected as 2022-23 SWOSU-Weatherford Rotary World Languages Scholar

Rylee Chamberlin has been named recipient of the Weatherford Rotary & SWOSU World Languages Scholarship for 2022-23.

Chamberlin is from Cashion and is a second-year student at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She is majoring in literature and pursuing minors in both mathematics and world languages.

The SWOSU-Weatherford Rotary Club World Languages Scholarship was proposed by Dr. Tugba Sevin, world languages coordinator in the SWOSU Department of Language & Literature and established in 2021 through joint funding provided by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. and the Weatherford Rotary Club.

“Being able to not only communicate in a different language but also having an understanding and appreciation for another culture is one of the most exciting things that I’ve experienced in my college career with the world languages minor at SWOSU.” Chamberlin said.

Southwestern Oklahoma State University has locations in Weatherford, Yukon and Sayre. The SWOSU-Weatherford Rotary Club World Languages Scholarship is stewarded by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. The Foundation was established in 1977 to promote philanthropy and distribute funds to support the activities and programs of SWOSU. Located on the Weatherford campus in the historic Burton House, the Foundation currently stewards nearly $37 million in assets for the benefit of SWOSU.
