Garrett Daniel Carter Memorial Endowment Established at SWOSU
Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) with locations in Weatherford, Sayre and Yukon has announced the establishment of the Garrett Daniel Carter Memorial Endowment.
Carter is a 2016 graduate of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy. He died on November 11, 2021.
Carter’s parents, Mark Carter and Kim Carter of Stillwater, have generously endowed the Garrett Daniel Carter Memorial Endowment to provide ongoing scholarships support to SWOSU students who are enrolled in the SWOSU College of Pharmacy’s PharmD/MBA dual degree program.
“The entire SWOSU family of alumni, emeriti and friends grieves with the Carter family over the loss of one of our own—Garrett Daniel Carter,” said SWOSU President Dr. Diana Lovell. “We are truly honored that Mark and Kim Carter have chosen to celebrate their son’s life by creating a memorial that will help his fellow SWOSU Bulldogs in Garrett’s name far into the future.”
The Garrett Daniel Carter Memorial Endowment is stewarded by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. An institutionally-related charitable entity, the Foundation was established in 1977 to promote philanthropy, award scholarships and distribute funds to support the activities and programs of SWOSU. Located on the Weatherford campus in the historic Burton House, the Foundation currently stewards over $36 million in assets for the benefit of SWOSU.
