Student-Directed One-Act Plays Set at SWOSU


Southwestern Oklahoma State University theatre will present eight student-directed one-act plays this Wednesday, April 20, through Friday, April 22.

The plays will begin each evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Old Science Building Auditorium on the Weatherford campus. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Each play will run once. The following are the show dates, directors and lighting designers for each production:

April 20

  • "The Love Talker,” directed by Eddie Gonzales; lighting design by A.J. Sawatzky
  • "The General of Hot Desire,” directed by Lyn Koop; lighting design by Alicia Green
  • "For Whom the Southern Bell Tolls,” directed by Heather King; lighting design by Lauren Helmke

April 21

  • "Joe & Stew's Theatre of Brotherly Love & Financial Success,"directed by Tracii Hanes; lighting design by Eddie Gonzales
  • “Rain,” directed by Lauren Helmke; lighting design by Alex Corder

April 22

  • “The Insanity of Mary Girard,” directed by Beau Bratcher; lighting design by Zac Wotipka
  • “The American Century,” directed by Alex Corder; lighting design by Jamie Rowe
  • “Approaching Lavendar,” directed by Ashleigh Edwards; lighting design by Sam Jennings
