College Women's Leadership Conference Planned


Applications for a statewide women’s leadership institute for college students are being accepted.

The National Education for Women’s Leadership Oklahoma is planned May 19-23 in Norman. The five-day residential program encourages college women to consider careers in politics and public service. The program, including room, board and materials, is free for all participants.

Deadline for applications is March 10.

Southwestern Oklahoma State University has had six students participate in the program that started in 2002. They include Naomi Peachy Clark, Shelley Cole, Devin Huber, Lucia Kihien, Jessica Oxford and Linda Pizzini.

Approximately 35 students will be chosen for this year’s program. Students who are interested in politics, public policy and have leadership potential are encouraged to apply.

Students can download the application and letter of recommendation forms from the web site SWOSU students who have additional questions can contact SWOSU Associate Provost Cindy Foust in Room 208 of the Administration Building on the Weatherford campus.
