SWOSU Community Chorus Seeking Singers for Gilbert & Sullivan Program

The SWOSU Community Chorus, under the direction of Jonathan Stewart, has begun preparations for a program entitled “A Showcase of Gilbert and Sullivan” to be presented in concert on Monday, April 10.

Stewart said the SWOSU Community Chorus is currently looking for singers who would enjoy participating in this program.

Sopranos, altos, tenors and basses are needed. Rehearsals begin immediately and will be held on Mondays from 7:15 – 9:15 p.m. in Room 101 of the Music Building on the SWOSU campus in Weatherford. New Singers will be accepted until Monday, February 27.

Gilbert and Sullivan were a team of writers for comic operettas. The Community Chorus will prepare various choruses from several Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, including Princes Ida, The Gondoliers, The Mikado and The Pirates of Penzance.

Stewart said interested individuals can just show up for rehearsal. For additional information, contact Stewart at 580.72-3208 or jonathan.stewart@swosu.edu.
