Xbox Tour Coming to SWOSU

Xbox is coming to SWOSU!

Xbox will launch one of its newest games this Monday, April 3, on the Weatherford campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University. The appearance at SWOSU is one of just 23 national stops across the United States.

The Hit-n-Run Tour is an entertainment experience that combines music, sports and videogame culture into one party. The SWOSU event will be held from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. in the Wellness Center on the SWOSU campus. Admission is free, and the public is invited.

Cindy Dougherty, dean of students at SWOSU, said Xbox representatives will be giving away Xboxes as well as Xbox games throughout the day.

Ten LCD hi-definition television stations with Xbox 360 video games will be set up at SWOSU. Participants will get to play the brand new MLB 2K6 (Major League Baseball game 2006) game as well as various other hockey and basketball video games. A home run derby featuring SWOSU baseball and softball players will be held from 2-4 p.m.

There will be prizes and giveaways for everyone.

“We are fortunate that Xbox chose SWOSU to be one of the stops,” Dougherty said. “Students and everyone should have a blast on Monday.”

Other tour stops include: San Diego, Los Angeles, Berkeley, Denver, Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Tampa, Miami, Atlanta, Clemson, Charleston, Chapel Hill, Wilmington, Richmond, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, West Chester and New York.
