SWOSU Students Attend Sigma Tau Gamma National Conclave

Two Southwestern Oklahoma State University students in Weatherford recently returned from the Sigma Tau Gamma Grand National Conclave.

Guymon’s Lucas Grounds, president of Sigma Tau Gamma, and member Buzzy Anaya of Dumas, Texas, represented SWOSU at the conclave in Pittsburg, Pa. The event is held once each two years during the first week of August.

Grounds was asked to serve on the Judicial Board of Sigma Tau Gamma, a national social fraternity. The conclave was Grounds’ second one to attend. He and 10 other SWOSU Sigma Taus attended the national conclave two years ago in Chicago.

Both Grounds and Anaya said the best part of this year’s trip was meeting the fraternity’s board members, president, president-elect, and representatives from 80 plus chapters across the United States. Headquarters for the conclave was the Omni Penn Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh.

Grounds thanks the SWOSU Student Allocations Committee for making the trip possible.
