Entries Being Accepted for Gooberfest Celebration


Entries are now being accepted for a parade and arts/crafts exhibit that will take place at GooberFest, a peanut harvest celebration being planned October 7 in Colony.

John Parrish, director of the event, said anyone interested in either the parade or arts/crafts exhibit should contact him at 580.774.3766. Parade entry forms are available in Room 205 and 207 of the Administration Building on the Southwestern Oklahoma State University campus in Weatherford.

GooberFest is presented by SWOSU in cooperation with the City of Colony and the GooberFest Committee, chaired by Doug Misak.

The parade is planned for 10 a.m. on October 7 in Colony, while the arts and crafts exhibit will take place throughout the day.

Parrish said other activities are also planned at GooberFest, including children’s activities, new car and farm equipment displays, and food booths. The day will end with a performance of the Colony Music Jam at 6 p.m.
