SWOSU Brandy the Bulldog Tryouts This Thursday

Tryouts for the 2006-2007 Southwestern Oklahoma State University “Brandy the Bulldog” mascot will be held this Thursday, September 28, in the small west gym of Rankin Williams Fieldhouse on the Weatherford campus.

The tryouts begin at 4 p.m. and are open to all SWOSU students.

“Brandy” attends all home football and basketball games along with other appearances requested by the SWOSU Student Government Association, according to SGA Internal Affairs Secretary Natasha Robinson. The mascot will receive payment for his/her services to the university.

Any students interested in trying out should register in the Dean of Students Office (Stafford 214) and must do so before 2 p.m. this Thursday, September 28—the day of tryouts.

“Brandy” must meet a minimum cumulative 2.0 grade point average requirement and must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours. Scoring will be based on a one-to-two minute dance routine prepared by the candidate trying out. Candidates must bring their dance routine music to tryouts in the form of a CD or cassette tape.

Scoring will be based on the dance routine, enthusiasm, previous experience and an interview with the judges.

Questions regarding tryouts may be directed to Robinson at robinsonnj@student.swosu.edu or 580.71.0337 or to Student Body President Garrett King at sga@swosu.edu or 580.774.0615.
