A seris of unusual events

Oklahoma Music Teachers Association at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford will present "A Series of Unusual Musical Events" on Thursday, October 26.

The free concert is open to the public and will feature a wide array of musical acts by SWOSU music students and faculty. The concert will be at 7 p.m. in Room 101 of the Music Building on the SWOSU campus.

“This concert will showcase the many talents of the SWOSU Music Department,” said Jana Schantz, vice president of OMTA. “With acts like ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia’ and ‘The Theme from Mario Brothers’, it will be unlike any concert you've ever seen and is sure to be an entertaining evening for all.”

OMTA and the Collegiate Oklahoma Music Educators Association are also sponsoring another concert on Thursday, November 2, at 7 p.m. in Room 101 of the Music Building. The concert will feature many members of these organizations. The event is a fundraiser for the student groups to raise money for their respective state and national conventions later this year. Suggested admission prices are $2 for students and $5 for adults.

Additional information about the concerts is available by contacting the SWOSU Music Department at 580.774.3708.
