SWOSU Hosting Anadarko, Clinton, Sayre & Weatherford Basketball Teams

Southwestern Oklahoma State University is hosting a basketball festival this Friday and Saturday, December 15-16, involving high school teams from Anadarko, Clinton, Sayre and Weatherford.

The festival will be held at Rankin Williams Fieldhouse on the SWOSU campus.

SWOSU will have an area available for visits with parents and students about SWOSU, which has campus locations in Weatherford and Sayre.

Todd Boyd, director of the SWOSU Admissions and Recruitment Office, said adults and students 9th grade and above will be able to register for four $250 scholarships—one per school—which will be given away during Saturday’s games. Winners of the scholarship drawing will be able to choose the scholarship recipient, a senior who is planning to attend SWOSU during the 2007 fall semester. The scholarships can be used at the Weatherford or Sayre campuses.

Also, there will be door prizes given away at the games.

Basketball fans are also invited to come early on Saturday and watch the unbeaten SWOSU men’s basketball team play Missouri Southern at 2 p.m. The fast-paced Bulldogs, coached by Todd Thurman, are a perfect 8-0 this season and are averaging nearly 90 points each contest. Fans that attend the SWOSU game can also stay for the high school games.
