SWOSU Hosts Successful Blood Drive

Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s recent “Holiday Hero” blood drive on the Weatherford campus resulted in 196 people attempting to give blood.

Oklahoma Blood Institute Program Consultant Michelle Stinson said the efforts of Holly Bullington, SWOSU Student Government Association and the SWOSU softball team, coached by Tami Loy, ensured the success of the drive which resulted in 160 people actually giving blood. Stinson said this drive was the best end-of-year blood drive ever held on the SWOSU campus.

The Oklahoma Blood Institute, a not-for-profit regional blood center servicing more than 110 hospitals across the state, conducts five blood drives each year on the SWOSU campus. The next drive is scheduled for February 5-6 in the Wellness Center on the SWOSU campus.
