SWOSU Guitar Hero Auditions

The members of Kappa Gamma Beta want to invite everyone to have some fun and raise money for cancer research in the first ever SWOSU Guitar Hero competition, which takes place on Wednesday, February 28.

Auditions for the event will take place on the evenings of Monday, February 19, and Thursday, February 22, from 6-8 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. The event will have students performing songs from the popular Guitar Hero video game series on Playstation 2.

“Guitar Hero II was one of the top selling video games last year,” says Zac Dumas, the event’s coordinator. “Lots of students enjoy playing and watching this game, so it’ll be interesting to see who will be the best at SWOSU.”

The competition will be set up in a talent show format. Anyone wanting to participate will need to register for one of those two audition dates. The top 10 will then perform on February 28 for the title.

Proceeds from this event will go to benefit the Custer County Relay for Life.

Audition notes include:

  • Must bring a SWOSU ID
  • May choose song from either Guitar Hero or Guitar Hero II.
  • Can register as a solo artist or work with a partner in co-op mode.
  • Player can choose any difficulty, but the harder, the better.
  • Costumes, props, etc. are encouraged, but not required

For more information or to register, contact Zac Dumas at 580.302-1803.

“We’re so excited to host this event,” adds Corey Lumley, vice president of Kappa Gamma Beta. “Not only to bring something new to campus, but to support a worthy cause.”
