Drumline & Colorguard Camps Set at SWOSU


Southwestern Oklahoma State University's Department of Music will host the 15th annual Colorguard Camp and Marching Percussion (Drumline) Camp on July 1-3.

The Colorguard Camp is open to students who have completed grades 6-12, while the Marching Percussion Camp is open to students who have completed grades 9-12.

Dr. James South, professor of music and director of bands at SWOSU, will also present a Music Technology Workshop for educators on July 1-3. The workshop is open to any adult wishing to learn more about music technology and music writing programs including Sibelius and Finale.

Registration will be in the SWOSU Fine Arts Lobby on Sunday, July 1, from 1-2 p.m. Late registrations and walk-ins will be accepted for the camps and the workshop.

The final performance for the camps will take place on Tuesday, July 3, at 1:30 p.m. for the Percussion Camp and 2 p.m. for the Colorguard Camp in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium. The public is invited, and admission is free.
