Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s College of Pharmacy and the Pharmacy Alumni Association recently implemented a new program that brings back prominent pharmacy alumni to the Weatherford campus to share their expertise and experiences with current students.

The Pharmacy Alumni Lecture Series (PALS) is underway, and two SWOSU alumni—Paul Moore of Atoka and John Walker of Amarillo, Texas—recently visited the campus.

Moore is a 1978 graduate and is president of Pharmacy & Consulting Management Company as well as owner of Roy’s Discount Pharmacy in Wilburton. Oklahoma.  Walker is a 1972 pharmacy graduate and is a consultant pharmacist with SunScript Pharmacy Corporation of Amarillo. The company provides consultant services to long-term care and assisted living patients in the panhandle of Texas.

Both pharmacy graduates spoke to students about their careers in pharmacy and how their SWOSU College of Pharmacy education impacted their paths to success.

PALS is one of many new ideas developed by the Pharmacy Alumni Association Council to enhance the relationship between SWOSU College of Pharmacy students and alumni.
