Dates Set for 25th Gallery of the Plains Indian Art Show


The 25th annual Gallery of the Plains Indian Art Show will take place August 30 through Labor Day Monday, September 3, at locations in both Oklahoma City and Colony.

The event is a program of Southwestern Oklahoma State University and will feature the works of American Indian artists and friends as well as special art displays by SWOSU art students and faculty.

The first part of the art show will take place in Oklahoma City. The show times are August 30 from 5-9 p.m. and again on August 31 from 1-9 p.m. at 636 NE 14th Street. The show will then move to Colony, located 14 miles south of Weatherford, on September 1-3. Art will be on display in the Exhibition Building on September 1 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., September 2 from 12 noon until 6 p.m. and on September 3 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Also going on during the weekend in Colony will be the 66th annual Cheyenne & Arapaho Celebration and PowWow on September 2 at 6:30 p.m. and again on September 3 at 11 a.m.
