A Bulldawg Nation student group has formed on the Southwestern Oklahoma State University campus in time for the upcoming basketball season on the Weatherford campus.

Bulldawg Nation is a new student spirit and entertainment section for the SWOSU basketball teams this year. Natalie Jordan said anyone interested in being loud, crazy, and perhaps even being painted blue should join the group.

Students who join are required to wear their Bulldawg Nation t-shirt.  They are encouraged to use body paint, wigs, props, crazy hats and make signs. There will be organized chants and actions.  For those interested in joining, t-shirts are available for $10 in the Dean of Students office, located in Room 214 of the Stafford Center. Shirts are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be sold at various upcoming events.

All those wearing Bulldog Nation or Rankin Rowdy shirts to home basketball games will get a free coke and chances at different prizes throughout the season.

“I’m excited to start the Bulldawg Nation,” director Cory Lumley said. “I think it’s going to be really good for the teams and a great way for all the fans to show their support. Come be a part of the legend.”

The group also have a pledge that is signed when purchasing t-shirts. The group will also sit in a special section at Rankin Williams Fieldhouse.
